Default Buh-Bye Us Airways

jsled 12/19/2012
US Airways will say bye-bye to our code share and the Star Alliance. Jeff will have to fly our passengers on our jets to PHL, CLT, PHX, and DCA. This will be huge. Fingers are crossed.

Airline alliances. American is part of the Oneworld global alliance, which also includes British Airways, while US Airways is part of the Star Alliance. The plan is for US Airways to leave Star Alliance by March 31. That’s important to frequent fliers who want to use their miles on airlines in one of those alliances. If you have a lot of US Airways miles, and you want to book a flight on a Star Alliance partner, it’s best to make those reservations now.

TAM is also leaving Star Alliance in the Spring for One World, although it looks for now like the codeshare will stay for a while. Hopefully this means UA will have to grow in S America.
