When I think of the "old ops building" I'm thinking of the white building just outside of the turn style hand reader. I think that building was ops since the 70's or earlier! So I am very surprised we are back in that lot.

We are across the street from the old ops building, It used to be dirt and they paved over it and painted spots on it and called it a parking lot. SFO has the best parking in the system. No bus to wait on, you can walk there in 15 minutes or take the airTrain to Garage G and ride the elevator down to the ground floor, walk out of the garage and you are at the parking lot.
I came to SFO in 1987 so can't speak about where we were in the 70's

I asked a friend who is a commuter in SFO on the 400. He said its best to move your car out and back in the lot to avoid problems with local parking authorities. Not going to work for an occasional car trip. I'm looking into nice secure, covered car storage for about 200-300$ a month.

The old ops building I was thinking about was torn down I think. I used to go in there with my dad back in the day. Good memories.

Who are you and why are you impersonating an Airline Pilot? :-) You don't need to spend $200-300/month, find a buddy line holder you can give a key to and have them move it when they come in to fly

That was the plan. It turns out the road overpass just missed the building. The building is still there. It is still used by UAL but I'm not sure what for.

I remember the old ops building. The old cafeteria on the lower level - food poisoning - confidence is high. And to go up to the mailboxes and FOSR desk you were lured into the elevator and that used to get stuck about once a day in the early 90's so you hoped it wasn't on your ride. The "powerbars" were in the credenza. Contractual deal man. I'll file a grievance if it's empty! Oh yeah, "70's" gates were filled with Guppy 200's and Trimotor 100's, not RJ's!!

Thread drift.

I often walked across the parking lot, past the service center, to the ramp, right to the plane....

All the old employee busses I think were sent the SFO to die. You were always scraping your knuckles on the exterior bin for your bags.

Anyone have recent experience operating out of LGA? Is there a specific area for parking? Is parking reimbursed through uSource? Extra pay for ground travel time (including reserves)? Thanks

Thread bump...

Are the commuting pilots working for a regional not serving SFO allowed to park in employee lot...??

Also, where to find the info on who to contact for parking lot pass ?

Thanks in advance...
