Nah, I should have looked there FIRST and then post this....
I read over Section 8-E. A few things... A) It sounds expensive to displace. As it should be. B) I couldn't find anything concerning vacation in 8-E or Section 11. Does this mean they can't change it? |

Yup.
Anytime you change your base, equipment, or seat you lose your previously awarded vacation if it is scheduled after your activation date. The time simply gets credited back to your bank for use in monthly vacation bidding for the remainder of the vacation year. |

From what ive heard "right sizing" the bases means right sizing the equipment in each base. Instead of having a huge 320 base in ORD, DEN, and IAD and a huge 737 base in EWR and IAH, they want to "right size" these bases. They want to spread the 737s out system wide as the 320 is. In other words, grow the old 320 bases with the 73, and grow the old 73 bases with the 320. Thats what I heard but who knows.
I think you might be right with the last vacancy there were plenty of 320FO's that bid to the 756 and 76T with no backfill in the 320's. Kinda heard the same thing too about the 737's right sizing but that was also in 4th Q of last year. |
If you are displaced, I believe you keep your vacation

11-F-5 and/or 11-F-6 apply, to paraphrase: If you get bumped and require training the company can cancel your vacation. If you get bumped and do not require training, you might be able to keep your vacation, restrictions apply. |

Let the games (displacements) begin!!
However, with the new rig feature coming up this fall, I believe that this will cure the issue with all of the 4 day pairings. |

I have a hard time believing that they will displace due to the expense of it all, especially with all of the training back logged as it is now.

At the rate that we are getting 737 replacements, I don't see it being a big issue with us losing 37 757's. The 757's aren't going away overnight.
But I'm not worried about it. I didn't want to be a 737 Capt even though I could hold it. I know that you are excited about the possibility of displacements as are most long term L-UAL First Officers. Patience, you'll get that left seat soon with the amount of retirements. |

Most guys in Denver are sitting tight. No displacements? No problem. There's always home improvement projects or lake/mountain time on 73 hours pay...talk about expense! Watch and see...there will be bumps. |
