Is the end of probation contingent on the check ride? For example, if the check ride is assigned into the due month (13 months after DOH), does the probation period also extend until that time?
Also, what is the protocol for the end of probation as far as a meeting with a supervisor, etc? |

The whole probation thing is essentially a non-event for the professional aviators that are competitive for an interview. A pilot has to be truly "special" to not make it though probation, IMHO. The very, very few that do not make it are well known because: 1) their antics are spectacular and/or very specific 2) it is so rare |

I'll never be accused of spectacular landings, so I got that going for me. Which is nice. |

6-C Period of Probation A Pilot shall be on probation for twelve (12) Bid Periods of service as a Pilot for the Company and having performed 165 days of work for the Company. For purposes of this Section 6-C, "Work" shall include Pilot duty, reserve availability, training, instruction, special assignment and all other flight duties for which compensation is paid. Nothing in this Agreement shall be construed to prevent the Company from ending a Pilot's employment during his period of probation regardless of his position on the Seniority List. |

It's my understanding that probation ends 12 months after your hire date (you'll get a letter from your CP). Your CQ may or may not fall within that 12 month probationary period. Your due month for CQ should be 9 months after IOE completion. Whether you do your first checkride on probation depends on how long training takes, and whether you do CQ in your early, due, or grace month.
