737 Consolidation Question

I am sure this has been addressed in the past, but I don't really have time to go back and research. For anyone with knowledge about not consolidating (100 hours in 120 days), I am about to reach my expiration in a week, and during that week, have only one work day during which I am able to consolidate. I have worked with the futures desk and with scheduling. I have moved days off in order to pick up trips, and am still 1 hour and 45 min short with only one day to get it. Unfortunately, there are no open trips available on that day. I have left a message with the EWR CPO tonight in the hopes that they can buy a trip for me, but if I am unable to pick something up, what is the process for getting the 30 day extension? Thanks!

Flying

Am I reading this right, you are acting responsible for not getting your consolidation completed at UAL?

Ok I'll write this, it's not your fault!

It is the responsibility of scheduling to make sure you get the required hours and if you can't they are responsible for the extension. Just one important thing, do not fly a commercial trip until this has been cleared. Both you and UAL are subject to fines by the FAA if you fly a revenue trip without the proper qualification.

Oh and if you fail to consolidate there are more than one way to fix it. Check with the OE desk from ex UAL, they have been down this path before. Just don't fly until they fix it.

Piling on, it is not your responsibility. Don't worry about it. Even though you may be NQ for the problem, it is their problem and you will continue to be paid.

Enjoy some time off till they(UAL) fix it.

An addition to the question... Considering all the backups in training and IOE, what happens if I plan as well as possible (say 5-6 months for initial new hire training, IOE and consolidation) and give my Guard unit a reasonable date to send me to training and then the backups cause me to not get completed by that date? Pretty tough to move training with the Guard, especially because they've put it off while I wait to get done with training at UAL...

flygirl135:

First have you been hired yet? If not kind of an odd question.

If you have been hired the deal is you're on probation and are at the whims of scheduling within the contract. If you do have a problem, due to a contractual issue, I would let ALPA deal for you. The other thing is this; too bad about your Guard Unit, they can wait. Of course I also assume you are still in good standing at the unit.

+1

Consolidating then going on mil leave can be done, but you're going to come back, and immediately go back to training for another MV/LOE, on probation. Are you comfortable with that? You're also prolonging your probation period by however long you're on mil leave.
