Mixed cockpit
So, sitting inside the fence, I'm curious.
Anyone flown with a merged cockpit? Which fleet and seat? How did it go? |
I was an off-the-street hire last year, but I've flown with captains from both sides on the 737.
The grousing is pretty equal... Fortunately, the SLI didn't affect me, so that never comes up. I have my own opinions on it, but I am very careful about divulging them. |
Flown with multiple UAL guys new to left seat of the NG 'Guppy'. Sorry to wreck the dreams of the 5% who try to dominate this board, BUT everything has been stellar. Talked JCBA and SLI freely, but candidly I am far removed from the law suit crowd. My only gripe is that UAL guys have acted surprised and looked uncomfortable when I've told stories illustrating why CAL '83-85 hires are a cancer. Wish reality met web board rhetoric.
|
I've flown with several L-UAL pilots and have nothing but good things to say about them. They are like 90%+ of the pilots at the new United. Good guys that want to work together for a good company so we can take care of our families.

I have a buddy 777 F/O who flew with a LCAL Capt and it didn't go well. But he was a scab so it wouldn't have gone well if he had been from LUAL either |
Guys,
This subject makes it sound like it hasn't been happening since the TPA was signed and UAL folks came in as new hires on the CAL side during that period. We've all been flying together for a long time now. Everyone get over it and focus on the real target please. Both sides have their douche bags. It doesn't matter what color their uniform was before the merger or after. Lee |

Lee After seeing bids with legacy seats/bases going to pilots from the opposite legacy, and not having any interaction with them myself, I was just curious how it everyone is enjoying their new position. You know, like what a forum is supposed to be for. ;) |

Never had a problem with any LCAL pilots on my airplane. I did however have an issue with an LCAL F/A on Sunday while deadheading from SEA to DEN. I can't use the appropriate term on APC to describe her but if she was a puppy she would have been the runt.
Just FYI according to our lovely little princess who made it a point to molest me with her opinions at least once every 15 minutes. I was supposed to take my ID off when traveling on a "Continental" airplane because they could tell I was a United guy and that makes them mad. Because of me on a scheduled dead head they had to Kick off paying customers, Continental pilots don't do that. I was supposed to help all the passengers put their bags in the overhead before I sat down. Gordon Bethune is friends to this day with all Continental F/A's. Jeff Smisek hangs out with LUAL pilots and considers them friends (seriously). The "United" reservation system is causing problems. Those are just the highlights. But you get the idea. |
