Any one know the answer to this? Somehow I think it has to be greater than the value of the original trip since your Line value drops....once the original trip is removed.

Double dipping is allowed. The FBO pay protects you for the trip bought for IOE. You have no obligation to the company to be available. If you choose to pick up something on those days, you are paid straight time for the extra flying on top of the original trip.

This makes me think its actually the combined value:

3-D-4 Unless otherwise stated, provisions that entitle a Pilot to Add Pay are discrete and independent events.

Meaning, each trip adds to the "add pay" independent of anything else

Anyone want to be the guinea pig?

Thanks. Would this apply even if the IOE trip was picked up instead of being part of the original line value?

Once you pick it up, your LineValue goes up accordingly.

wouldn't you want your PTC to go up??? Not line Value since it went down from the missing trip.

For discussion's sake:

Let's say July is an 80 hour line. SO...

LV=80
MPG=72
PTC=80

after a 20 hour trip drops (bought for IOE)

LV=60
MPG=72
PTC=80

So the question is....does an additional flight assignment go on top of PTC....or LV?

I don't believe the Line value would decrease in an FBO situation. PTC deals with cancellations and reassignments. I would have to research that, though. But I am 100% positive that anything you pick up is paid above what you were pay protected for.....how the payroll people account for it with their codes is a different story.

^^^^ NOT true!!!

Old contract! Rule of thumb for new contract...If FBO... ONLY fly on days off to guarantee pay. Went through this last month, FBO'd and was told if I picked up a "new" trip is was pay protected (only paid greater of 2 trips). So, I enjoyed my new days off and picked up another trip on days off...done...paid for both.
