You are not technically displaced. Forget the T and the 5 your fleet is the 757/767. As long as you stay in your base and on your fleet you are not displaced. So if you don't get trained you don't get trained. Now if it was a surplus bid then you would have displacement rights.
Also all New hires need to keep in mind that DMA training is not a PC or a LOFT so your base month stays the same and you will still have to do your proby ride. so you get three seperate training events this year. |

The 756 and 76T (T for transition...as in transitioning to 756) WILL be one fleet. Until that day, we have BAT. BAT is the closest thing to one fleet they could think of. This isn't rocket science and it's not a precedent for upgrading out of seniority...don't know where you got that. ALL BAT Captains were already Captains within the 756/76T fleet.
Let's take the 320 EWR Captain. He's been locked out of the 756 and 76T for over 3 years. He'd like to bid the 756 because it includes the 767-400 that pays the same as the 747/777/787 but can't because ALPA and the company decided his seniority doesn't count. If they can take seniority away from one they can/will take it away from others. I didn't say they were upgrading out of seniority YET - give them time and the right arbitrator see what happens. BAT violates seniority and when you do it once why not do it all the time? It would be interesting to see what we(ALPA) got from the company for BAT. Was it one of those PW back-room deals? And you can't assume that the people on the 737 and 320 are junior to the 76T or 756 because many on both airplanes can hold 747/777/787 but hey, you got yours. Carry on.......... |

Carry on.......... 320 EWR Captains have been locked out ??? Are you smoking crack? There have been 40- 756 CAP awards and 102- 756/76T FO awards since MAY!!! Go look at vacancies 14-08, 14-10, and 14-11. It's like I said, if there are net gains, there are vacancies for ALL to bid. And many outside of the 756/76T fleets have bid them (including EWR 320 CAPs). As for me, I've already said I have NOT taken a BAT, but could have. It's not about me. I just get it, meaning I understand it, and I have no problem with it. |

I think I remember these same words being uttered before "It's not about me. I just get it, meaning I understand it, and I have no problem with it." And you couldn't be farther from the truth. You give up seniority once and it's lost forever. BAT was about the company and not about the pilots or pilot seniority. |

I looked at the bids you suggested and best I can tell it was only 10 756 CAP in EWR. Over that period there has a been about 40 756 CAP move to EWR of that 30 were BAT and only 10 were actual 756 CAP EWR bids. You can work your fuzzy math and come back with the number to justify your argument but let's stick to the EWR 756 BIDS when you do. Dates and numbers of the award would be nice.

Yes, JH agreed to BAT and you should enjoy your little carve-out, but don't expect high-fives from the guys that have been wronged. Notable sled quotes:

Bat is no carve out. It allows 76T and 756 pilots to exercise their seniority within the (soon to be one) fleet. Period. Don't like it? Tuff sheet. It's got ALPA's endorsement. In any case I'm done with you and your foolishness. Nobody's been "locked out" of vacancies, but that doesn't stop you from saying it. Just the facts, ma'am.

Why are so many of the 756 trips to Europe 4 day trips and not 3 day trips?
Are they straight (basic) crews and then need more rest? |
