Default Deadhead Deviation Question

Quick question for the experts...If I deviate from scheduled Global DH does that waive the contractual right for first class seat?

Still planning on DH to Europe just from EWR not IAD.

Happy Thanksgiving ya'll!

You do lose the seat but you go to the top of the non-rev list for an upgrade.

Translated - you'll be in a center seat

Had a nice Business First seat from MAD to IAD a couple of months ago.

And more specifically, you lose the right to a contractual FC seat but since you are now traveling using the corporate travel policy (vs the UPA) you may still book a business seat for a DH as long as seats are available at time of booking (international only). The downside is there is no assurance for even a lowly E+ seat if none are available. And yes, when booked in business you are placed on the upgrade list for first on the three class birds.

Moral of the story: book early before upgrades grab the seats when deviating.
