Imagine two stacks. One the normal and one the MG. They draw from the top normal and MG. You do a MG and get Moved over. Other MG can be moved on top of you due to their higher qualifications. This could cause a slight stagnation on the MG side. However, most are better off being on the MG side if they need the extra bump.

It has been hypothulated/speculatized that the MG short (less tall) stack is indeed a competitive within itself.

I recently flew with a TK guy who explained that the shear quantity of M&Gs that have already been distributed effectively devalued them to the equivalent of a job fair attendance, assuming the original intent was to score them higher in the first place.
They should still be pursued by applicants, but they're not a magic bullet and should be included in your well-diversified application "portfolio" alongside job fairs and gobs of flight time. Being a son/daughter and/or former intern is a big bonus. Don't shoot the messenger... |

Where is this "portfolio"? How do these job fairs and meet and greets get scored? Do they go through a back door and have your name in some cabinet somewhere... Airlineapps has no idea if you go to a meet and greet or a job fair.
Anybody who could accurately answer that would be a very rich person. And not here posting the answers. I think the confusion is by design. |

I think the confusion is by design. Under BK, who knows? |

What does that mean, got what you needed from it? Meet and greets aren't what they used to be. I, and many others I know, have had meet and greets. I think it gives some "points" somewhere somehow but I dont know.
I was told if it went well, I "may" have a LOR added to my resume and my app would move to the small stack. That's it. No further promises. The best I could hope for was a LOR on my app. Two days later, the LOR appeared on my app. Where things go from here, if they go from here, is anyone's guess. Still scary though. Might never get a call from anywhere despite being competitive. Trent |
