Thank you for this, b/c I do have a question...

August new hire here so still learning a lot. Just wondering if its normal to see in the CCS Vacancy Bidding page on the right side column (Relative Seniority) that the numbers have not been "refreshed" since December 9 2014? That would seem to coincide perhaps with the closing of the previous vacancy around December 6th if I recall.

Are the new hires from December and January not being factored into these? Seems like That might be important for making decisions on those of us still VERY junior.

Just looking for some insight...thanks everyone.

I believe that vacancy bid page should refresh when they do a snapshot today...I think that was the way it happened last time. You'll see your new percent with each snapshot.

That page shows me at 100%+ in some bases where I can clearly hold the equipment. I think it uses the min. So if you're 95 out of 100 in your base, but the min is 90, you show up at 100%+. I don't think that's very accurate. The best thing is the detailed report that shows up after each bid. It shows exactly how many people in each BES and where they are as a perentage. This is the latest Category Summary. You will have to log into to Flying Together to access it. https://flyingtogether.ual.com/web/c...ry_Summary.pdf

I believe the relative senority on the bid screen uses the manpower model from the monthly staffing list. New hire pilots who have not finished IOE in a BES don't show up as active pilots on the staffing roster. Of course you can still bid whatever you want with the understanding that you'll be junior wherever you go! If there's a vacancy and no pilot sr. to bidding an assignment (and no restriction) you'll get it.

Thats some pretty junior 777 & 787. Being the first snapshot I bet there will be a big change with the snapshot tomorrow.
