Lots of flights, and hundreds of United, American, Delta, Alaska, et al. pilots and flight attendants fighting for seats. Same with SFO except take out Delta and Alaska and add Virgin America. You will get bumped, you will watch the last flight to PHX push back from the gate, you will have to buy hotels/sleep in crew room, and you will go into a satellite airport to get there. Oh, and you curse the inventor of the Regional Jet. G'day to you.

That does not sound encouraging. I'll soon be a PHX to SFO commuter. Any body doing that commute - would you like to comment.

hopefully your airline flies that route, that certainly makes commutes WAY easier.

LAX-PHX commute

Just drive, you won't get bumped and it doesn't cancel.

I've been making this commute for just over a year. Loads are tight in the summer, holidays and during spring training.

I've missed a few flights but there's usually another shortly after. Never any weather delays. I always use SWA or USAir. Our airline only flys regionals

One of my good friends on the 777 does the commute. I know when he has a mid day Asia flight he usually goes up on the first flight out in sits in SFO for 5-6 hours. For the SYD 10PM push, he usually bounces out of here around 1 or 2PM. Sometimes when things are messed up there with flow he will go via SJC and take a shuttle to SFO.

As a new hire not even in class yet that lives in PHX, I would love to have a short commute, however IAH/EWR sounds like it will be a bit more forgiving to a half winger on probation. Hope to see you around PHX sometime soon!

The good news on the 400 is you have many options to get home after the trips arrive. You can usually commute in the day of except NRT/ICN. Also, we've added and occasional mainline, wow!

2014 was bad year for commuting, I had to go thru other cities to get home or to work, been bumped a lot, watch my plane push back form the gate, etc. you know, the usual.

Also, baseball spring training season is a commuting nightmare.

I commuted PHX-EWR for six months. Trust me when I say a PHX-LAX commute is infinitely better.
