Honestly, I don't think really effects UAL unless the brain trust does something really stupid and buys the building or something.
This will be one large real estate investment partnership selling to different one. All the corporate tenants presumably have long term leases that do not change simply because of a change in ownership. In fact, since the leases are long-term and stable they make the building marketable for sale in the first place. We live in a world of Lawyers looking for loopholes. My fear would be- A) united decides to buy it! They can barely run an airline.. can you imagine them running a SkyScraper? LOL 2) Someone comes in, buys it and then finds the loopholes that causes united to have to pay more for certain items~ Yes, I would HOPE that the long term lease is solid but all I have to do is look at Manhattan and see businesses that no longer exist in their original locations because the new "owners" of the property wanted more rent, or started charging more for certain functions. Will be interesting to see what happens. Always Motch |
Yeah, getting kicked out would be a catastrophe. Where would they move too?
Wait a minute. I remember a huge building, at ORD, on the perimeter. It reminded me a bit of the Pentagon, only bigger. It used to be full of 3700 useless managers of a major legacy carrier. I am not sure why they moved in the first place. Maybe they didn't like airplane noises? Nah, that would never fly........... |
United only takes up 20 floors of that building. Though it is the largest tenant, it is not nearly big enough to consider buying the building. Why this is even being discussed is beyond logic.

I spent too much time in the black ops behavior modification facility (aka the CBT lab) to keep them straight.
