I don't think our UPA should have been based on flight attendant behavior.

FWIW I tried to vacation trade last year and was denied. I was told that since it wasn't in the contract it wasn't allowed. I was just trying to help someone out with a swap that needed my week off. Don't worry though. He got the days he needed off anyway....something about self help.."cough, cough"

The person may own it, but that implies he must use it and not sell it to someone else.
Read posts on this forum and other forums about how some pilots would use their seniority to pick up the best trips and then "sell them" to junior pilots. They owned them due to their seniority but then sold them to the highest biddding junior pilot and thus bypassed all those more senior pilots in between. . I once traded vacation to get to see my son graduate- yes with a more senior pilot. So, if you are sincere- outlaw selling vacation- to anyone! And while you are at it, outlaw paying someone to pick up your trip. I think Aeroflot could use you in management. |

So anything no prescribed in the contract is proscribed. What a sad way to do business, and a really crummy form of employee relations. However, those in control of the union and management probably like the control.... It wasn't very long ago that if something was not proscribed it was allowed, so long as no laws or regs were violated. What have we come to? |

I have never heard of selling vacation or trips, but pretty much nothing would surprise me. The bottom 10% are capable of almost anything.
Unfortunately with a seniority based system, we can all get treated equally for the actions of the lowest common denominator. |

You seem out of control. Calm down please.
Now now, nowhere in the contract does it allow you to make such comments. |

I think you are making up this hogwash about selling vacation. Anyway, I guess you are okay selling it back to the company? The contract and ALPA are?

Wouldn't fit into Aeroflot management ... don't speak russian. You obviously feel strongly about the issue. Instead of complaining and lambasting everyone that explains the pitfalls of an issue, use the process to try and get it fixed in the next contract. Udachi ! |
