So, if you are sincere- outlaw selling vacation- to anyone! And while you are at it, outlaw paying someone to pick up your trip.

So anything no prescribed in the contract is proscribed. What a sad way to do business, and a really crummy form of employee relations. However, those in control of the union and management probably like the control....

I have never heard of selling vacation or trips, but pretty much nothing would surprise me. The bottom 10% are capable of almost anything.

Unfortunately with a seniority based system, we can all get treated equally for the actions of the lowest common denominator.

If it's not in the contract; it's negotiated with a side letter. AlPA gives up something or trades something and the company agrees to the negotiations. That is how it usually works. Same thing with the company, if they want something, they give something up and ALPA agrees and signs another side letter. That's just the way most unions do business.

Wow ... Not making up hogwash. Was told Trip trade sales happened in the EWR LCAL base prior to merger. Was also told that a bunch of pilots went to the EWR CP to get it stopped but that it continued.

You obviously feel strongly about the issue. Instead of complaining and lambasting everyone that explains the pitfalls of an issue, use the process to try and get it fixed in the next contract.
