April 21st class

I'm in!

Tentatively:
26 slots
21 new hires
A320 in IAH
737 in EWR
Possibly some IAD for both
No 756

February 24th interview

kpcarl0 03-27-2015 12:52 PM

You say you interviewed 2/24? Low or high SS?

duvie 03-27-2015 01:33 PM

Very high: -96XX!

ingleburg5 03-28-2015 04:05 AM

Just FYI, I wouldn't expect 737 DCA (IAD). There were no unfilled vacancies there on the last bid. If they come out with a new bid soon and some vacancies remain then possibly, but otherwise only the 320 would have DCA slots. I forgot to say congrats and welcome aboard!

kpcarl0 03-28-2015 06:30 AM

I'm in as well! See u peeps 21 Apr!

Jaybird84 03-28-2015 08:08 AM

I'm in!
2/24 Interview
Low SSN

Mix between 737 EWR and 320 IAH/DCA

Jaybird84 03-30-2015 08:52 AM

Anybody younger than 30 in this class???

Mill 03-30-2015 09:30 AM

Just curious, why do I keep seeing questions about ss#'s here in the United class thread? I thought Delta was the only airline that did that?

All successful interview candidates are put into a pool for their specific Monday-Friday week of interview. As class slots become available, you are pulled out of your pool based on the last four of your SSN. Once you get to class, your seniority is then based on your DOB.

For example, many of us in the April 21st class interviewed the week of Feb 23-27. People who interviewed that week (in our pool) and who had lower last four SSN are in the April 14th class. And there may be interviewees from the March 2nd-6th interview week (with low SSN) in the April 21st class.

I'm in, just added today. All the above info was what I was given this morning. Equipment is not final, but I was told the same 320s at IAH/DCA and 73s to EWR. I look forward to meeting everyone.

Doesn't look abnormal to me. Not surprising that the 756 went to the last few; it limits the opportunities to move to a different domicile.

So now you guys can put in standing vacancy bids. No rush; it will probably be another couple of months before the next vacancy bid.

Anchuskydrvr 04-22-2015 08:47 AM

What was the age range from Sr to Jr in the class?

Number 14 in the list. 35 years old

Akpic1 04-22-2015 05:34 PM

Congrats on all that just got started. I should be coming in for a class mid to late May hopefully.

Question: Any projections if there will any delays between Indoc and specific AC Ground school or are the training schedules running back to back. Any trends you have heard on training schedules?

Great question, and very helpful to those of us starting up in May if you all don't mind answering.

Thank you for the class breakdown of equip/domicile award. Any reasons or rumors why SFO has not been in the mix in the last couple of classes?

They are still activating pilots from the past vacancy bids. They are keeping the staffing even across the board with CAs/FOs. As 1 CA comes in 1 FO comes in, and most of the SFO 737 CAs are new upgrades that require full training so the ramp up has been slow. Once they run out of FOs to activate then the new hires will get the slots. I have no idea when that will be :D.

There can only be new hire positions to bid if there were unfilled vacancies offered to those already here. So if any request for SFO was filled, then no new hires will be offered SFO.

Thanks for those explanations MasterP and C11DCA!

Bump.
I've heard 757 has been backed up. What about all the 737 new hires, did you have a break after Indoc?

It's a mnemonic for the switches on the bleed/packs for the 737 and sort of an inside joke for 737 pilots.

Don't worry about it...you'll find out soon enough. Just take the program as it comes.

SV Review questions in Flying Together under B737 Training support and study the syllabus and profiles. Review the non-normals from each lesson and their associated checklist and system. Doing all of this is waaaaaay overkill but if you like to be bored, go for it.

There are plenty that don't need their meal an hour into the flight.

73dot7 06-08-2015 02:50 AM

Is the coffee good and is there an intravenous setup?

'Preciate it 89P...I may need to work it now cause I might get some distractions later.

If you are ahead on the CBT, know the callouts, and can struggle through the flows, you are gonna be just fine.
