No. Not messing with ya, but the 777-300 thing will replace 787 orders.

This article suggests that United buy the 2- Air Canada E170s that they're trading to Boeing. I'd love to see that, as it would definitely help stop scope creep. What used aircraft could United buy? - Airline Business

Add another 50 frames and that would be just about the right amount considering the loads and plague around here.

Amen. The loads are too high. United could maximize profitability and increase customer satisfaction numbers by increasing ASMs to help lower the loads. And going with used aircraft lowers the cost of adding capacity.

Bonus additional rumor: the UCH BOD has approved the not-so-secret 777-300ER order.

That's a conversion of 787 orders to 777-300 orders, correct?

Even if it's a new order, the planes are likely steeply discounted in order to keep the production lines full until the 777X starts production. Article: Analyst argues Boeing will be forced to slow 777 line starting in 2018 - Puget Sound Business Journal

All of these rumors are great to hear and hopefully will put a temporary end to furlough concerns.

Friend 'O mine was in Capt. charm school last week, said the 777-300ER's will not be in exchange for 787 orders. Not sure what version to believe. I liked his version.

Not so excited about the 777-300er rumor. Or maybe indifferent is better since it's a wash regarding pilot positions since it will be a direct replacement for the 747.

Right now 4 747's planned to be retired over the next year+. 9/15, 12/15. 6/16 and 9/16.

Word at the hot dog factory was that the A350 is going to be the whale replacement.

That was always the word on the street since it was ordered.

It will be, but won't be here till 2018 and beyond. So the 777-300er order would allow for a beginning of the phase out of the 747 now.

The A350-1000 has basically the same dimensions as the 777-300er but is 30-35 tons lighter, with better efficiency and range.

the rumor I heard was not A319's but 32 A320-232's all from China with the V2527-A5 engines.
The Hold-up as I heard it were the A.D notes and Mods to communize them with our own airplanes. These -232's have a lightly higher Max ZFW and Max Landing weight than our-231's and the ACARS, GPWS mode 5-7 with TAWS has yet to be installed.
The FAA CMO out of San Francisco seems to already be in the loop...
Now? There could BE more A319's for all I know but the A320-232's is what I heard and more than ONCE. And I'm particularly interested as I will be in the Group handling them on the TOMC Airbus desk. As Well as the A350.
