Be patient, and be glad we are hiring to fill the seats.

Airbuses have far higher commonality than older aircraft. There are very few differences other that engine type and some switches (external lights) on the overhead panel can go either way. Newer airbuses have newer FMC's which are much better. Most foreign airlines get "the full Monty" instead of getting dumbed down ones that UAL typically bought. Full thrust engines, and higher gross weights. The engine thrust can be derated through software, and weights can just be limited to the rest of UAL's fleet.

I just don't see much "conversion" work for any Airbus from anywhere. Just delivery inspections, and maybe different FMC's. Maybe HF radios? UAL's Airbus's are bare bones compared to what is available.

ding ding ding... good news on FT...

We have reached an agreement with AerCap Holdings, a major aircraft leasing company, to lease used Airbus A319s. Eleven aircraft will be delivered over the next two years. In addition, up to 14 more aircraft may be delivered over the next five years subject to certain conditions. These aircraft will supplement our current fleet of 55 A319s and fly routes across our domestic, Caribbean and Latin American network, ultimately helping us reduce dependence on 50-seat regional jets.

Between AirTran and Blue1 it's close to a hundred.

These jets do not count as SNBs as per the JCBA. Not that the company didn't ask....but SNBs are clearly defined. They still cannot get as many 70/76 seaters as DAL. SCOPE CHOKE is working....unless/until they wanna buy some SNBs. ;) These 319s are just cream on top.

1-L-25 “New Small Narrowbody Aircraft” means a CS100, E190 or E195 aircraft, provided that
such aircraft is neither in the Company Fleet as of the date of signing of this Agreement nor
acquired through merger or acquisition of another air carrier.

Looks like China Southern had V2500 engines. China Southern Airlines and IAE Announce $1.35 Billion Order

Most Chinese airlines operate a mix of IAE and CFM for a stupid reason you would not believe. They also have a mix of cockpit switches on the overhead where "up" is on, and "down" is on. Same reason.

Great news, always happy to see flying coming back to mainline

Their leased fleet appears to all have IAE engines.
