BTW, 150 Houston displacements takes Captain from 8400 to 6300 seniority.

Question as a non 121 guy hoping to get on....

If you are displaced does the company offer any kind of financial or other assistance with a move?

Yes.

It can get VERY expensive for the company for a number of reasons.

At the very least they get Positive Space booking to their displaced domicile for a year. Basing it on 4 trips a month that costs the company 48 round trip seats. What? $60,000 minimum is sunk costs?

Positive space is 6 months then it's a higher non rev priority.

No problem getting displaced. Probably in the first round. Gonna run out and buy a Peyton Jersey this weekend.

If Council 33 doesn't insist those folks get the same closing the base grandfather deal the 74 folks get they are asleep at the wheel.

Que ???? ?????

You do realize that it wasn't a closing deal right? It was a "re-opening deal" The "deal" was made when the company announced re-opening ORD. The company wanted it as much as anyone because it saved them a TON in training costs. Just wanted to set the record straight on that one.

Yep. And understand both arguments of bad precedent/not in contract v. Mitigated impact on those senior pilots and corrected for incompetent manpower planning.

I ask the union to advocate for all pilots. I hope 33 advocated behind the scenes for those folks. Company has previously said the want to concentrate Bus flying in 4 places, Denver being one of them. Hope somebody is on that.

Do not like seeing anybody get schwacked by a displacement and I think some here and about in both legacy groups enjoy watching others get hosed to balance the SLI. Not helpful.

I have no doubt that if a DEN 76T base were to open back up 6 months later (Like the ORD 747) that C33 would be all over it. The IAH 737 displacements are simply right sizing the fleet/base. I expect we'll see more bumps in DEN as some of the CAs bid the Bus and Guppy, not to mention all the FOs bidding left seat on the Guppy.

I personally wish people would stop the Blue vs Black crap at this point. We're going to be beginning section 6 openers soon and we need to be one pilot group. Displacements happen, it sucks for those who are affected but it's a fact that everyone must learn to deal with if they make a career out of flying especially if they bid the very top end of what they can hold. Both sides are feeling the pain. It's time for everyone to accept the fact that the enemy is not each other, it's management.
