Default Uniforms

Hi all,
SkyWest pilot here lucky enough to get the call for a class soon.

I have about 200 bucks left in my uniform account here at SkyWest and am thinking about grabbing a new bag. However, my current rig is still good for a few more commutes and was wondering about what overcoat is used.

I currently have the black Perrone bomber jacket. Is that allowed? It is aesthetically similar to the Gibson and Barnes model if that is still in use.

Secondly, how about overcoats? Black, blue... other? We use M and H so I was hoping it may be the same model as the UAL coat...

Otherwise I'll grab that new bag. I have to spend the money or lose it. I am looking for the official jacket as I don't want to be the guy with the odd coat or non-matching uniform etc....

Looking forward to joining the team.

Get the new bag. You'll be issued an overcoat. You'll need a blank patch for the Velcro on your leather jacket to pin your wing onto.

Get the bag and your jacket should be close enough to keep CPO away. In training Buy extra couple pants... 2 is all they issue at Denver. Overcoat provided as well as 4 shirts, hat, jacket, wings, emailers, and tie. Congrats.

What are emailers?

I heard there's a local place in Denver people go to get better quality shirts? Also, what are the rules, if any, on the leather jacket?

I'm taking a gues that autocorrect changed epulettes to emailers. The M&H shirts are garbage. I prefer A Cut Above shirts, but others might have different suggestion.

FYI...5 shirts and 2 ties. Company won't pay for zipper ties. The quality of the stuff seems to be better than what we received at skyw. The Hats here are much improved too.

Of course it's a joke... A united pilot would never intentionally wear, or condone the wearing, of an unapproved uniform item.
