Anybody know if the contract stipulates penalties for taking too long to move someone after an award?
Got a lateral on the last bid but manpower still hasn't moved me. Buddy of mine said he thought you're treated as 24/7 TDY a while after your effective date, but I can't find anything in the contract. |
Snapshot shows DEN 320 FO going to LUAL 8/2000 hires (LCAL 1/2008). 737 slightly more senior. Keep em coming!

Check out 8-F-9. Laterals are not specifically mentioned, but a lateral is an award. They have 92 days or 3 bid periods after the effective date.

There's a rumor that all the training spots (not including new hire training) are full through the beginning of December.
Anybody know if that's true? |

Also first snap shot is up.
Looks like the companies great idea of being able to spread new hires around the system instead of shoving them all into EWR and SFO has backfired. Only a hand full of open spots in IAH(5), LAX(28) and DCA (3), with a hundred open slots each in SFO and EWR. I find it amusing....Planning always thinks they know how this pilot group is going to bid and they always fail. Not a lot of training with this bid so far so we may see another vacancy quickly after this one closes. PS: DEN bids didn't even get all the way through the pre merger seniority list...... This is just the normal process for vacancy bids. The company DOES care where Displaced pilots bid, but they can't do anything about it, other than issue more displacements from the affected categories that got overstaffed as a result of the diplacement. |

The company could care less where new hires go. They just have to have the right number of bodies in each place. This vacancy bid is mostly feedstock for new hires, but the company has to issue them as vacancy bids so that pilots already here can bid on them, which they just did.

Probe,
I disagree. This is much worse. |
So Fifi or the guppy?
I am in the 29 September class and was looking over a buddy of mine's shoulder I noticed there were more vacancies to get to Houston on the guppy now then on FiFi. Are all of those slots going to be gone by the time I get to class and which one would you all recommend to get to Houston the fastest in the likely event there are none in our drop? Thanks in advance for your help.
