If I may ask, what did you have down on your availability compared to your class date?

As a military guy, I want very little time from my last day of active duty (start of terminal leave), and getting on property. While I know beggars can't be choosers, I'd be interested in seeing what class start date looks like compared to what you listed your availability date.

Thanks in advance.

I had it ASAP. I knew when interviewing in early September...it would be around December...for what it's worth.

Major Indoc and Training (particularly in Houston) is not hard. It's gotten better but they're doing what they can with a facility never intended for that many people. When it all goes to TK things will get easier. Less crowded and hectic. Denver is a far more relaxing place to train. Room to breathe and halls are wide enough to walk down. I won't miss Houston and as a training base it just doesn't have much to offer except watching shootings on the news at Hoot County Saloon.

For now though just relax. Cooperate and graduate. They'll teach you in theory and you'll learn most of it on the line much to the chagrin of your captain.

It looks like things are moving quicker than expected, also is there a copy of the contract anywhere on this outer web thing?

For many. For thousands more, not so much. Lousy timing, lousy luck, lousy management etc and it's just a job.

😀

It's a great gig bro. Don't let the old crabapple naysayers with the black cloud over their nugget constantly being negative get you down. Enjoy. It's fun.

agree… life at one of the major airlines is awesome in comparison most non-flying jobs and working at a smaller national, corporate gig, and/or regional carrier (from what i've heard) that works you to death with crappy pay, benefits package and retirement program.

Normally the ones that are chronically unhappy are either (1) unhappy with life in general, (2) don't drink enough, or (3) commute to work. If you can do less of number 1 and 3 and try to do more of 2 you'll be fine.

I was scheduled for the first available class after the date I used for my available date. it actually didn't work well for me, so I called and they pushed me to the following week (13 Oct for re-indoc). This is the same experience that occurred to a buddy of mine this month. They will work with you on what you want. I'm looking forward to getting started again. Have fun!

Pardon my ignorance...do you mean moving faster as in the class dates are moving earlier than anticipated...or something else?
