Now is a good time to leave this Archaic, Worthless, Good for nothing Union. Are you ready to sign a card? Or keep wasting bullets on a Dead Horse. |
As I see it, isn't it already in our contract for the company to order these aircraft? I mean, if UAL wanted to order these AC why don't they just go out and do it. We have a pay scale for that already.
The RJ idea hasn't been a good one in our industry. It's economics are poor. It remains to be seen if the 100 seat RJ is a good idea or not. I think with cheap gas it's probably great. Once fuel goes up, do the economics make sense?? I think carots like this one are short-lived. Management wants a 2 year extension in exchange for a lifetime investment on our behalf. Think about this. Once those jets are on property they aren't going anywhere if our investment in them is sizable. Why a 2 year extension? Why not 1? Why not 3? What's so special about the number 2? I don't trust ALPA on this. The RJ community now wears the pants in ALPA and this entire RJ experiment has resulted in a 20 year setback for the industry. I don't ever want to be on an RJ again for the rest of my career, and that includes DH. |

Now, as in any negotiation, a lot is possible, they may ask, request, pressure, threaten, bribe, blackmail all they want, but in the end, they don't have any more say than "WE" let them. |

Sorry to burst your rant, but ALPA national has exactly 0 to say in our negotiations. The ALPA president has to sign any agreement as head of the union, but that's it.

Sorry folks, not a Scab. One of the first group of non-scabs to fly the airplane. I grew up in a family of ALPA / UAL pilots and they would have killed me before allowing me to go to work during a strike or for United Airlines post 1984.
The 90's hire pilots (God's Special Pilots) are pretty good entertainment on these forums. After reading "Flying the Line Volume II" they are all enlightened as if they were here at the time. They should be thankful they were never in a position to make a decision to scab. Talk is cheap. I will see you on the line on the west coast and we can chew the fat about anything that bugs you. Also, I always buy. Just layoff assuming everyone is a scab because they are tired of the ALPA rhetoric, it's getting a little old. |

The 'ALPA is the root of all evil' rant is extremely indicative of 84 hire stank. I have to ignore that lecture just about every time I go to work. And blank offers to buy the first round by those individuals are always met by me with a satisfying slam click. Sincerely, Extremely Entitled Noughty Hire |
