There was no raise. FedEx pilots realized they have hit the top of the scales and aren't asking for crazy raises like Delta is.

As stated in the article, "FedEx is banking on lower costs from new airplanes and increased productivity to help offset the expense of the new contract."

In all honesty inflation has been less than 3% except for 2011 when it was 3.2%.

2014 1.6
2013 1.5
2012 2.1
2011 3.2
2010 1.6
2009 -0.4

Increased productivity for one. They now have 6 week bid months. The entire holiday season will be covered by one bid.

Also they're years past their amenable date. The increase pay should've happened a while ago so without nuking out the math they're losing money if they'd ratified this same contract on time.

5 year delay to a 57% ratification. Their mgmt def won this round.

Just to let you guys know, much of what is being posted on here is not accurate. For starters we didn't go to 6 week bid periods.

Fed Ex

We were 2.5 years past amenable date. As a WB Capt. I'm getting a $39,000 signing bonus. My hourly rate goes to $286 on 01NOV. I'm ANC based so every trip has a $10/hr override.

Was that removed from the TA somehow?

Edit: Interesting, a few clicks and I'm educating my FedEx buddies. I stand erected.

Do you have a reference for that? "The Negotiating Committee said ..." won't hold water for an arbitrator. Where does the TA, err, CBA say that?

Nowhere.

Now who at Delta was/is asking for "crazy raises?" You know nothing of which you speak. Stay in your lane. Delta pilots did not like the concessions and voted a TA down by a margin of 2-1. Not one of them I know said it wasn't enough money.
