Is that a typo? I've never heard of a class that large. Did you ever bite the bullet and take that RJ job?

Jetfetch 11-10-2015 01:14 PM

No typo. Because there are only two classes in December they are 30 something and 65. It's a great time to be a United pilot, until the next war, or economic downturn, or......but here's hoping it'll be a long time before any of those things happen.
Cheers,
Fetch

The movement has been fast a furious around here. I moved up 70 numbers this month, 777 FO has gone as junior as a guy barely on 2nd year pay, and Denver is finally seeing some openings.

Enjoy it while it lasts...could be several years or it could come to a screeching halt.

Class full?

Does anyone know if the Dec 8 class of 65 is full yet or not. Also is that the last class scheduled for 2015?

Not sure if it's full, if it isn't it's getting close to being full, and yes it is the last class of the year

baseball 11-18-2015 04:24 AM

sounds like the folks that have been stuck at regional carriers for last 15 years are starting to get pulled out. Good for them.

sonic340 11-18-2015 06:52 AM

As of yesterday they were working on filling the last spot for this class. Looks like January 5 for those still waiting.

Triumph 11-18-2015 08:04 AM

I interviewed a couple weeks ago, was just told today to expect January 12.

Which email are you referring to? If you are asking about the December 8th class, I am pretty sure everyone has received all the emails pertaining to that class. I received my invite to class with required paperwork about a month out. Then two weeks out (November 24) I received an email with additional information pertaining to the class.

Triumph 11-30-2015 11:08 AM

I haven't received an email yet. I'd assume I'll get an email in the next week or 2 for a January class.

It is going to be tough to find a seat at the bar!

FlyHIGHgoFAST 12-08-2015 10:25 AM

anxious to see what the drop here was....As big as this class is, it will probably take 2 days to get through everyone!

They might as well not even give this class a drop if the rumors hold true about this vacancy bid that opens tomorrow most will be in a different base if not a different aircraft before indoc is out.

Do they count Indoc as the start of training for freeze purposes? Meaning can you only bid for a Base Lateral in a vacancy bid or is it open to both aircraft and base changes since you won't have started your aircraft specific training by the time this bid closes. (theoretically the bid is coming soon)

Don't know how this language is interpreted:

8-D-1-a When a Pilot enters training for a vacancy award, he may be ineligible to be awarded another vacancy for twenty-four (24) months

I know you can definitely get a lateral to a different domicile, I just don't know if you can change airplanes.

Is Indoc part of the training for the vacancy award ? Obviously you have to have it, but not sure if it is part of the vacancy award.

You can go to the 756 or 777. Iv seen a lot of guys with less than 2 years on property do a lateral so I'm not sure what the rules are. Company can do what they want so bid it if you want it.

I personally know a guy who went 737 to 320 with less than a year on property and AFTER he finished IOE on the 737

LibertyPilot 12-08-2015 04:34 PM

Drop was EWR 737/320, SFO 737/320, LAX 737/320, IAD 320 (largest to smallest)

I'll empty an IPA as fast as the next guy, but remember, it's a school night. While in class ask about some new hires that got let go about a year ago or so, if it went down as I heard. It seemed after a handful they forgot what they we doing.
