Take a look at alpa.org web site and tell me if you notice anything different.

Agreed.

Was on-line three days ago. Logged in, and tried to figure out how to get to the UAL MEC, which then should lead to the LEC.

Took me five minutes. I'm still not sure what I did that finally got me to where I could see the tiny pull-down that goes to the various LECs....skillfully hidden at the top of the banner.

Too much salesmanship on the members' site. Just get me to my Reps and the various committees.

It is not ATAC. It is ITAC, Information Technology Advisory Committee.

Todd Insler, the rest of the ITAC and Rick Harrell who replaced Charley Murphy, the former head of ALPA IT, are the reason the whole ALPA IT infrastructure is being replaced, and Amber is not just "upgrade of ALPA's dues collection and membership database capability" as you erroneously claimed, that is just "The first phase of this infrastructural renovation." Maybe you should take your own advice and "Read the passage (I) bolded carefully."

Actually, the opposite is true, and its IT not AT.

The website is so terrible that it makes all the more surprising that the mobile app is very useful. LEC reps, hotel list, KCM locations, jumpseat guide, in just a couple of taps.

Why is that surprising?

Mark Zuckerberg was just saying on Facebook's earnings call that he told his people he wants their complete focus on mobile not desktop. ALPA's AMBER project is going to lead to both being infinitely better, but mobile was where ALPA smartly chose to focus their IT resources while the underlying infrastructure was replaced and improved.

Why can't ALPA provide both mobile and desktop? It's the same database.

ALPA does, but they have wisely focused more on mobile because it offers more bang for the buck until the underlying infrastructure is replaced.

ALPA National may offer both but is the same technology available to the UAL MEC? If so, why don't they use it?

The new ALPA Int'l web site just went live. I would imagine the MECs' web sites will follow as IT manpower allows.
