I am at the downtown Sheraton right now, and in my opinion there's no comparison. This is my 11th school at United and being downtown is FAR better than Cherry Creek. The hotel is much, much better. There's many more restaurants and entertainment options, and the van ride is almost exactly the same. There's no downside, unless the smell of weed from all the pot shops makes you uncomfortable :-)

It's the Holiday Inn Cherry Creek. I've never heard of anyone preferring the Holiday Inn over the Sheraton, but I've never stayed at the Sheraton so I can't comment on it from personal experience.

I had a car with me at the Holiday Inn, and the parking garage was always full of sketchy people. I was not surprised at all when I ran into a couple of cops investigating vehicle break-ins.

We usually ate at a restaurant in CitySet Cherry Creek, which is about a 5 minute walk from the Holiday Inn. It had a handful of restaurants, and a few decent ones.

I arrive Thursday to start a course. I'm at Sheraton and my partner is at HI Cherry Creek. They can't move him to Sheraton till Mar 6...or so they say. I'm hesitant to switch to HI...stayed there twice before and really had no complaints. But I've over nighted at Sheraton and know it's a much nicer hotel.

What's the parking situation? I have some sims that finish at 2am and thought a rental might make my life easier. I've been told the transportation to Sheraton is quite reliable. Has anyone experienced anything different?

I never had a problem with transportation at the Sheraton. I don't know anything about the parking situation downtown.

If you do decide to switch, let me know, I'm in the Holiday Inn and my sim partner is in the Sheraton, I'd be glad to take your spot over there simply for convenience

Don't do it! The instructors are good about letting you dash to catch the shuttle so you don't have to wait. Only benefit of HI is that parking is free... So if you want a car it's the best location.

Parking at the Sheraton is prohibitive expensive ($36 per night.) If you must have a car, better stay elsewhere. I know people who had cars during training were leaving their car at TK parking lot overnight and riding the shuttle back and forth to the hotel.

Are you required to use those hotels? Or is there a way to use other hotels and get some reimbursement if they are not on the "approved" list?

Not required to stay there... But if you go elsewhere you get nothing.
