Headset for B787
The Bose A20 is probably overkill for a quiet B787 cockpit. Any recommendations?
I will only consider a TSO approved headset. Will not be needing it for commuting. Just for use in the cockpit. Is a noise canceling model even necessary? |
If you are on the 787 you can probably afford the Bose. Go ahead and treat yourself while the rest of us suffer with a Telex. All in good fun.

Look into the Clarity Aloft. Super lightweight and a big fan base.
|
Telex 750 and done.
|
Or the Telex 850 (ANR), which I use in the narrowbody Airbus during climb and descent.

Really appreciate the replies.
I own the Bose A20. Great headset, and has become headset of choice for many of the 747 crews, but the 787 is much quieter. Sandpaper - have to wear something. Company provides a mini-tel, and we bring our own earpiece, so I would be with the "community" microphone! No thanks. Clarity aloft. Telex 750. Telex 850. Three choices so far. Keep them coming please. |
There's always the old standby Plantronics MS50, or the newer MS200.

Sorry, but who wants to wear any headset longer than takeoff to FL180?

Plantronics MS50 single ear. I use this up to cruise then speaker. Its what 99% do.
Have you ridden in the 787 up front. Its very quiet...I will repeat that. Its very quiet. It's not like the 737 or 320 or 757. I would say bose though so you can plug it into your iPad for movies during your 6-7 hour break |
