training pay (non new hire)
I am on reserve. Going to training here in June for another airplane.
Question about training pay for all you contract guru's. Sent in a pay claim question don't like the response they gave me. Waiting on filing a PDR till payday to see what really happens. I am in training from the 7th till end of June. I get three hours pay per day which add up to 69 hours. My MPG shows only 69 hours. Shouldn't I be getting a minimum of 73 hours pay for the month. Pilot pay claim says no because I have a hybrid line. Next question is that I have 4 days reserve before training. And Pilot Claim is saying I have a hybrid line. And that my reserve days are included in the 69 hours. The 69 hours just adds up for training not the reserve days. Am I giving the company 4 days of reserve for free by the sounds of it. Reserves are paid 4 hours and some change for each reserve day. Keep it simple. I feel I should be getting 16 hours of pay for the reserve days in addition to the 69 hours that adds up for just training starting on the 7th. The contract does not give examples or really talk in detail on this type of situation except month preferencing. Can United guys only give me some feedback please. |
You should be payed 90 hours for june.

A full month of training Yes I will be paid 90 hours. That will be in the month of July.
But June is different because I have reserve days along with training. It's one of those months where pay is screwy because of the reserve days. |

But June is different because I have reserve days along with training. It's one of those months where pay is screwy because of the reserve days. Your reserve days in the beginning of the month pay 4:03:20 per day toward MPG. Then each training day pays 2:20 per day toward MPG. That accounts for the MPG bucket. Your MPG is 4*(4:03:20) + 23*(2:20) or 53:40 + 16:13:20 or 69:53:20 Now look at the Line Value bucket. Each training day (including off days) will pay 3.0 per day LV. Your best bet is to fly on your RSV days as that will add credit to your LV. Your LV is 3.0 * 23 or 69 hours. If you fly on your RSV days...add that credit to 69. So a 20 hour 4 day would get you to 89 hours. If you don't fly on RSV days, you will only get paid 69:53:20 |
Seems crazy if this is true! Yet another wart in this contract if it is indeed true.

I do hope ALPA addresses this bogus-ness. Hybrid my foot.

Thanks, that's the best explanation I have received.
Thought I would get at least 73 hours pay. Yes this is something definitely that needs to be changed in the next contract. |
