Neither works as it should. Another solution needs to be found.

I don't see the lCAL FA's voting yes for anything, period, EVER.

IIRC it was the DAL/NWA merger where ALPA first did JCBA first and it worked well for them.

I agree with you, it's going to be a VERY uphill battle to get a JCBA with this harshly divided FA group. I'm hoping they can come together though. For all our sakes. The SLI was bitter for all of us too, but the vast majority have moved on now. They have yet to even begin that stage.

I think the CAL FAs are outnumbered by the UAL FAs. Im pretty sure the UA FAs in SFO and LAX will be 100% yes due to the loss of INTL flying. You factor in those that vote for the pay increase and it will easily pass.

Cart is before the horse. Pass? We need details yet.

I mainly fly with very senior LUAL Fa's. Many are taking a wait and see, which is perfectly reasonable. However the few LCO f/A's I've flown with are all hell no! Just for the date of hire seniority merger policy.

Many of the senior F/A's are waiting to see a retirement package, and any signing bonuses.

However, I agree, if it becomes a vote along legacy lines, I think there are still more LUA's. And, any pay raises will certainly play with the new hires. Being able to make a living wage the first years is a big deal. They also know under any circumstance, they are junior and will be for a long time.

I think that if it ends up being a reasonable TA, it'll pass. There are a lot of LUAL FAs that are upset with the loss of international flying due to the flying changes from base to base. They have a huge problem with junior sCAL FAs that are getting all of their old flying. I think that it passes 60/40 or 65/35... Just my $0.02

If it's a reasonably good deal, the larger LUAL F/A group will vote "yes" and get it to pass.

There will always be a few LCAL folks who will take a pay raise too.

It's like our first contract. We voted on a marginal deal to get the seniority done and stop the seat grab.

I'm sick of seeing junior F/A's on what should be VERY senior flights talking about how they are going to "lose" seniority. They will just have to exercise their proper seniority....not flying better trips with 5 years than people who have been here for 15+.

Yep. They're the only LCAL employee group that voted down the last contract.

The current makeup is 58% LUAL versus 42% LCAL. Almost every LUAL FA is going to say yes. Very few LCAL will. The 15K signing bonus will be the teaser to convince some to say yes. It'll pass, barely, but it will pass.

A familiar scenario indeed. Vote yes on a substandard T/A just to get the SLI done. Where have I seen that occur before?

15K signing bonus!!?? If that's true, it'll pass like a soft shell crab slider. Nothing says yes like $375M. DANG.

They should have launched a 1 B dollar signing bonus at them 4 years ago. They would have all voted yes, and the local BMW dealers would have had a run on SUV's the next day.

And it would have saved UAL a bunch of money, and bad feelings going forward for a bunch of jr lCAL F/A's who thought Paris trips were a god given right.
