Minimum monthly hours

Proof positive. They let you go below fifty by processing your trades. However, that can cut both ways. Will it affect medical benefits, LTD, insurance, etc? Is there any fine print saying these benefits are suspended if one "voluntarily" falls below a work-hour threshold and perhaps be considered a part time (no benefits) employee. Dropping trips is voluntary. A PDR might be something to consider.

This used to be standard under the old line system, before PBS. Absences (vacation, jury, training) were loaded AFTER monthly schedules were awarded. Yeowza. Tons of open time. It was SOP to be sitting in front of a computer when the trip trade window opened to change your entire schedule. Thirty percent reserves and after the sifting was done all that was left in open time was Caracas red eyes and trips with scabs.

My intention is that I will pick up another trip, but if there are nothing but overnighters and MEX trips, maybe I won't. Unless the company makes it painful to do so.

Oh yeah, the fine print is why I am asking. I have searched the contract for hours and was not able to find anything that says what will happen if you go below 50. I think I remember during indoc something about you having to pay part of LTD and insurance if this happens, but I don't remember.

That's great that you got a trip drop...now if every base and seat had the ability to do that, then we would have a true trip trading system. Enjoy the 4th...and as Capt Stoops pointed out...I get WHY the drop...I didn't understand the HOW.

Being able to drop trips after the schedule comes out is great. Junior guys (me) can make a good schedule into a great schedule. It provides you with a lot of flexibility.
Crew Companion works well and makes it easy to move things around. I have traded trips every month that I have had a line. All 4 of them.
