Missed trip
Had my first one recently. Got bumped off my two flights. Gave scheduling a heads up when I was on my back up and they didn't want to ps me since they said they had coverage.
Anyway, is there any protocol for giving the CP office a heads up? Or should I let them contact me if needed? It was marked as a MT (missed trip), is that the appropriate notation? How does it pay or not? Thanks |

You should have rode the Tiger to work brother. \m/ (sorry, saw your avatar and thought it was appropriate advice). :D
Hell of an industry benefit indeed. The rest of the world doesn't get such discretion when it comes to getting to work. |

However, you can always try to pick up something else to make up for it.

A big chunk of the rest of the industry doesn't get such discretion when it comes to getting to work---or at least I didn't get such benefits when working at my previous non-union carriers as the first missed trip was the bottom rung of the disciplinary chain. |

Doesn't pay....you just lost that trip.

While this was a "policy" the entire time I have been here, it was a huge "get" to have it codified in the contract (21-P) in the last negotiation
Commuters do well to know the language and how to apply it during a commute when things start to fall apart. |

Without a contract a "policy" is simply the current whim. |

Thanks for the replies.

I had the first one of my career last year. No big deal, however I did get ahead of it and talk to the CPO. They really couldn't have cared less. Just said not to make a habit of it.
