Missed trip
#1
Had my first one recently. Got bumped off my two flights. Gave scheduling a heads up when I was on my back up and they didn't want to ps me since they said they had coverage.
Anyway, is there any protocol for giving the CP office a heads up? Or should I let them contact me if needed? It was marked as a MT (missed trip), is that the appropriate notation? How does it pay or not? Thanks

You should have rode the Tiger to work brother. \m/ (sorry, saw your avatar and thought it was appropriate advice).
Hell of an industry benefit indeed. The rest of the world doesn't get such discretion when it comes to getting to work.

Doesn't pay....you just lost that trip.
However, you can always try to pick up something else to make up for it.
Actually it's a hell of a union negotiated contractual benefit.
A big chunk of the rest of the industry doesn't get such discretion when it comes to getting to work---or at least I didn't get such benefits when working at my previous non-union carriers as the first missed trip was the bottom rung of the disciplinary chain.

Commuters do well to know the language and how to apply it during a commute when things start to fall apart.
