To stroke a pilot's fragile ego to make him feel like he's master and commander? To give said pilot the opportunity to confront management about all that's wrong with the world (instead of letting ALPA yield their legal right to represent)? Maybe it's so they can play "I've got a secret " with the latest and juiciest tidbit direct from management?
For the OP to label a company officer "delta bravo" for not visiting the cockpit is weak, and to me, wreaks of an over-developed sense of self importance.
Personally, I'd prefer not to be bothered in my workspace while I'm preparing to do safety sensitive work. Plus, I suppose I'm just anti-social

Here is what he said....Do I need to draw you guys a picture?

And I agree with both of you. Who FREAKING cares if some management dude comes up and glad hands the flight deck. In fact I've got more important stuff to do.

I'm reacting to and commenting on the OP, (original thread poster) no one else. Sorry if it came off as otherwise.

I don't like it when mgmt comes up in preflight, means I have to put down the Iphone and hide the color weather charts.
