the real Aug 6th class thread

Understand completely. But just mentioning it, gives it traction and a small degree of validity.
What the theory fails to reveal, is the numerous ones that succeed.
But it DOES fit their new agenda. That is to go back to "assigning" fleets to new hires based on experience. At least according to what they think would be appropriate. I wouldn't be surprised if the pass/fail success rate stays the same with their assignments.
Whatever ... they got us on that one. In the grand scheme of things, its a minor gotcha. Just illustrates how they will devise a system to work-around the contract when it suits their desires.
Ultimately the success/failure of an individual in our training is up to that individual. I've seen guys/gals that have struggled, from various backgrounds, but with the right work ethic, they succeed.
We fly a pretty common fleet of airplanes, this isn't rocket science.

Are they splitting the classes in August or not? All I've heard of is Aug 6th class.. The July split result kinda messed up the heavy time guys in my opinion with junior seniority and the inability to bid on a plane/base they might want.

I was given an August 6th spot and I'm a 747 CA so I'm guessing the 6th is definitely a heavy class. Probably 747 only.

We will welcome you with open arms!! I was mostly corporate, and found the training easy BUT nonstop, no letting of the gas, that was the “challenging” issue.

being a 747 captain does not mean you will get the 747. You may get assigned the Airbus in SDF, has happened to many others, why are you so special?....that is how these people work.

He's a coworker of mine and I think I understand what he was trying to get at. If they run the classes split in August like they did in July, the folks with heavy time (like me and him) might be put into the same aircraft (747/MD) that the heavy time folks were given in July. The split RJ time class was given 757/767, or all domestic for reasons that seem to point to prior experience. Prior experience did force people into aircraft in July and I beleive he was trying to say that he'd be forced into the 747 if they split the classes once again.
