This. Most of us have no problem waiting 18 months + the time it takes to bid out in order to get to where we want to be within the system (fleet/base). This is a common question I get asked. My answer is the above. It’s worth it and temporary. Yes, ANC commute is difficult, at times. But it’s not impossible and it’s temporary in nature (2 years) especially with the current hiring and forecasted growth. This is truly the best job out there and so is FedEx. Passenger legacies= similar money but a completely different career experience. It took me 14 months to start holding day time flying. I flew with folks that said it took them almost 10 years to hold that before this hiring wave. That’s the progression going on now. And the last thing I will say is that for all of the back and forth between company and pilots, UPS is an outstanding company to work for, they make a difference locally and globally, they are extremely family oriented, and will never hesitate to help their employees. This is a company that you can truly be proud to work for at the end of the day.

I’ve been searching through post and can’t find exactly the info I am looking for, or at least wanted to verify what I found is still accurate.

Sounds like I will be in the 75/76 class, is hotel covered while in indoc and sim training? Trying to figure when I will need a crash pad (most likely is SDF).

Does health benefit eligibility start on day one, or is there a waiting period?

Do they issue you an iPad with company manuals/ jepps, and can you use that iPad for personal use such as Skype with the family, or is it strictly work use only?

If I decide to bring a car to have during training and while on reserve in SDF or any other base, is parking expense covered by the company?

Night takeoff from SDF, day landing at XYZ ... that describes a lot of our flying.

That's about all I could come up with on any kind of widespread basis. We used to have a whole 2 day air network where you could make a career out of flying point to point during the day but it vanished.

Non-EDW day flying on the Bus is up noticeably since Contract 2016 was ratified.
