The downside of flying the A-300 at UPS is you constantly have to think up a snappy retort when people ask you the following questions:

1. Do you want to fly for the commercial airlines?

2. Will you ever get to fly the big metal like the 747?

It will be like going from Atari 2600 to Xbox.

Maybe, but they'll be able to speak hydraulic systems in terms of colors.

Pilot, 2019: “The Yugo sucks!”

Same pilot, 2024 (maybe): “Well, the NEO is gonna replace the MD and some Z routes, and I can’t hold anything good on the Whale in SDF, and I don’t wanna do three legs of Zomestic every duty period, and it has a proper rest and supernumerary area, and it’ll do .86, and training is bound to take six months start to finish, and we’re never getting Triples....aw why not.”

Hello all, I’m wondering if there is any real difference between A300 and 75/76 domestic in SDF. Are the schedules essentially the same? The relative seniority? What are the pros and cons of each?

Thanks!

IMO, a crap shoot anyway. If you flew Boeing inevitably will only be A-300s available, if a Airbus background, get 75/76 assuming your not a heavy already. If a heavy, your going to MD or 747.
Good news is can swap out 18 months later. As mentioned, if moving to SDF both good from new hire perspective from folks have talked.
If planned commute. 757 better long term as can bid ONT or MIA as mentioned and can do that before 18 month complete. Not required for UPS to do so, but they have awarded the domicile change as no one senior impacted and little to no extra training.
Happy award!
