Spent 2 extra years in the right seat to avoid the 75/76! Avoid it at all costs!

Looks like minimal Mexico action unless you fly the A300 ?

IMO

Bus will get you seniority faster in F/S/D as seat locks expire and FOs bid to Z or MD, and its bottomfeeder schedules aren’t *quite* as bad as bottomfeeder domestic schedules.

757 has more overall options and is definitely the smart play if you want SDF but can’t get it on any fleet as a newhire.

One airplane/engine/avionics (for now) is better for us neanderthals, too

Curious - is the data in the this thread all still pretty much the same? Any significant qol differences from a commuter perspective?

Much of the above thread is far more current.

I’m just curious about the aircraft types in general? I know the 300 isn’t gucci like the other Bus versions (sidestick and what not) - is there any benefit to flying the Bus over 75/76 (putting aside schedule and location)?

Off the top of my head, one set of numbers and more space for jumpseaters.

I heard the bus has no CPDLC and that telephone ring is loud enough to kill

I think the bus always has Perrier water in the catering.

Maybe not quite kill, but certainly stun. Almost as loud as when they slam that last can in...

The Airbus is EPIC!

No loo in the cockpit, jumpseaters have a supernumerary with room for everybody's luggage, its too slow to do east coast-sort-west coast or vice versa, actual trash cans for both pilots, LPV & RNP capability. CPDLC check is in the mail, not sure ETA...same for allegedly turning down the ACARS message ring volume. No ACARS printer <sad trombone>.

One domicile and static fleet size mean fewer ways to get used, but that also means less flying variety. Every airframe has the same engines, avionics, and limitations wihch is nice. Gets made fun of a LOT by Boeing and MD pilots, which means a number of FOs bid off for an international fleet once their newhire transition freeze expires and few senior folks bid to LeBus...unless they're taking first available upgrade.
