Default Group Life Insurance

I’m going to be starting at UPS soon and had a question about life insurance offerings. I’m currently getting great rates under a Group policy at my current gig but expect those rates to increase dramatically when I leave. What does UPS offer as far as life insurance including any group policy I may be able to take advantage of paying out of pocket for increased coverage. Thanks in advance and very much looking forward to getting to SDF

UPS provides all crewmembers with a basic $100k policy, and you can purchase additional supplemental coverage (forget the limit) through UPS.

IPA also offers group universal life insurance through MetLife that (IMO) has reasonable premiums.

Thanks Boiler. I have Met Life now with my current gig, wonder if I can just transfer over to the IPA plan after I make the switch or do I have to finish a year and be off probation?

Your current Group Life MetLife Plan May very well transfer with you at your current rates once leave current employer. You need to ask your plan administrator.
IPA Group Life -term insurance)
The IPA plan is transferable once you retire or leave UPS. You simply make payments directly to
MetLife. You will be eligible immediately with IPA plan. ( if able to keep current plan you can compare plans and costs) IPA Plan is very good. Few exclusions .
UPS Supplemental Plan good , more exclusions. Personal choice. UPS briefs all first week contractual and UPS optional benefits. IPA briefs you on IPA supplemental benefits a week later
Good journeys
