Commuting with a sip -o- something

Quick Q. Was commuting on UPS the other day, and had some of Kentucky's finest confiscated from my bag, and told it was not allowed. Is there an accepted way for this, or workaround? Can't imagine UPS guys don't bring a sip along on the road.

"UPS Policy Statement We prohibit the use or possession of alcoholic beverages or controlled/illicit substances while an employee is on duty. Employees are not permitted to go on duty, or to remain on duty, if they possess or are using any of the following: • Any alcoholic beverage or substance, regardless of its alcoholic content • Any controlled substance or illegal drug or any derivative thereof • Any other substance that could impair their ability to perform a job safely and competently This rule governs employees from the time they report to work until they leave UPSCO premises at the end of the working day."
I'm sure people do it anyway. I don't. They pay us enough that if we need a tipple we can pay the going rate, even in Dubai. And in today's environment that would be an awkward conversation to have with an ACP.

No, there was a certain individual that led to no alcohol.

I’m surprised you didn’t know this while jumpseating.
Like everybody knows UPS doesn’t allow alcohol.

Honestly no, it's not common knowledge and not really a realistic expectation of jump-seaters to know that.

UPS is likely the only airline that doesn't allow pilots/jumpseaters to carry alcohol.

Like you wouldn’t look up the dress code or requirements or any guidance for the Company you’re looking to get a free ride on?

Correct. Would not have even crossed my mind. Only company I know of.

No one I know of does. A very good way to get in serious trouble at UPS.
