No 75/76 (with new a/c to start showing up next year) nor MD’s? Displacement bid incoming?

I'm sure we will find out after the great flood of 22 is done.

There were a bunch of FO transitions awarded from other fleets to the 75/76 taking those spots. If they do park the MDs it’s not going to be like the 8 -> gone overnight. Half the fleet is still good to go. Imagine the rest will be a slow trickle.

The December class was filled with positions remaining from 22-101.

Are those the last remaining vacancies from 22-101?

Do you have the number created in the vacancy that just closed?

No clue if that used up 22-101, as the union only used an approximate at the GMM. It’s gotta be pretty close though. There were 27 spots from the latest bid.

I’m sure there wasn’t a 747 SDF. That position has gone quite senior.

I think that was an error in CPIL; it said 12 newhires and 1 FQL but there were only eleven newhires pictured.

Where are you saying the error is? I saw two IPA 747 SDF

I don't believe there were twelve total, and I don't think there were two SDF 747.

One union guy is pictured twice in the Chief Pilots Propaganda Line, if that is a clue.

There were no MDs hired last ~Nov-Mar timeframe either. May be coincidental, who knows.

Can someone explain how a new hire gets 747 SDF when so many others have standing bids for SDF?

The recent vacancy bid only had openings for 76 so any SDF 74 FO openings would have had to come from SDF 74 FOs bidding off fleet. Those resulting (recurred) openings would have then been available in this bid. 4 became available and were awarded.

New Hires are awarded vacancies based on unfilled vacancies, in this case from a previous bid. That’s how a new hire got SDF when more senior pilots want it.

I’d prefer more along the lines of United. The idea of a desirable seat going to a new hire when plenty of folks already in property aren’t allowed to grab it is wrong.

Isn't the idea here that the seat went unfilledso thats why a new hire got it. We had first crack at it.

Thats my understanding. New hires are being awarded vacancies from the bids earlier this year.

Tnkr - I agree that all open vacancies at point in time of the 22-102 Bid should have been included in the bid but also realize it’s not always that simple. Effective dates, training constraints, long term planning changes all affect the company’s ability to offer them. That and they just don’t give a F.

Like a OT trip tickiing inside 48 hrs. U had your chance now they are in control. I just find it strange that a 747 SDF went unfilled in any bid.

ANC 74 new hires who came on board after that bid, but before the most recent bid did not have a shot at that slot and are senior (perhaps by hundreds of numbers) to the guys who are getting it. My opinion is that anytime we have a system bid, every open slot from that and all previous bids should be fair game. If the company no longer wants the slot, they should be forced to delete it. Obviously, this would take a change in contractual language. We don’t get things here out of the goodness of the company’s heart.

I am sure the company would love the opportunity to delete slots at their whim..right now we force them to use them within 18 months I believe..thats for a reason.

I was awarded Z in my new hire class at the same time the company was displacing people off it.

Sounds bout right…smh
