Default Deferring start date

I have an interview with UPS in the near future. Assuming I pass and get offered a CJO, does anyone know if I would be able to defer a potential start date if one was offered that could not be taken up?

That is great news, good job. Did you just recently apply within the most recent application window which was at the end of February?

While I don't work for UPS, I worked hiring freight dogs for the last four years.

If you accept this interview opportunity and are fortunate to receive an offer you should probably take the class.

They aren't likely hiring in big numbers and for much duration. If you pass your package will either be trashed our placed at the bottom of a pool where you may never surface again.

At this point in time UPS most likely has a large pool of highly qualified applicants and they will select people that are eager to join their company.

From my limited view, it looks like we have classes through May. After that, it looks like a giant question mark with waiting to see what the economy is doing. I wouldn’t assume there will alway be a class every month as a back up option.
As far as HRs ability to defer a class date, I assume you could if there is a class available. But I wouldn’t risk wait if at all possible.

What would prevent such a thing?

I ask because I had an interview with UPS last year, heard nothing about the outcome of the interview for 45 days and then all of a sudden got a call on Saturday after 5 pm offering me a class in under 2 months. It did not seem like there was any room to defer a class at the time. Ultimately I decided to email them back a couple days later with a TBNT to them. I got no response and I likely will never get a shot at UPS again. Based off of the treatment I've heard from others they give to people who have started with them and then leave.

45? I'm at 232 and praying for a call.

I do. It’s just wild how UPS does this “pool”. If you’re good enough to pass an interview they should offer a CJO like everyone else.

I don’t mean to sound glib (Tom Cruise) because I don’t know the process. Is there anyone you can call/email that gave you the pool letter/call.

Any UPS HR contact you could reach out to?

My sim partner was in the pool 2 1/2 years and I know how frustrated he was.

I’ve been in contact with my POC from HR. Sent a few emails requesting an update to make sure I wasn’t lost in the weeds. They just send a canned message to the effect of “your status hasn’t changed and you will be considered for future classes”. Same message even after an internal rec has been submitted. I don’t know. It’s disheartening at this point. Meanwhile, I see guys turn them down or interview and hear back within 3 days. I must’ve scored on the retard level of “passed”.
