Default UPS 2025 Hiring Info:

Like every year, not much to report at this point. In general, postal service hiring is wrapping up. We are taking on some new planes but MD being phased out.

Classes: Another class starts on week of Dec 2nd. It’s stated to be 10 74/MD and 16 everything else for a total of 26. That’s 289 new hires out of the 310 planned for the year. We’ve had a few noobs leave so 20-something vacancies left unfilled going into 2025.

Rumors are out there of a Jan 6th class already being filled. I couldn’t confirm this.

Retirements: Mandatory

2025 = 25
2026 = 75
2027 = 85
2028 = 130

Aircraft deliveries and Md retirements:
8 scheduled 767 deliveries starting in 2025 is all I know. We have guys that keep tabs on all that so I’ll let them post vs spending a couple hours digging myself.

So on paper it looks like they’ll need 50 for leftover postal catchup and retirements plus whatever for any net aircraft gain.

Logic....(yes, very un UPS) would dictate that if they are hiring straight thru peak that they will probably be hiring well into 2025. If there wasn't a dire need to get guys on property ASAP they would have put classes off until Jan. Look for hiring to continue for a while.

I will make the contrarian argument and say that Atlanta said to get the bodies needed to make service for the USPS contract on property ASAP and the airline is blindly obeying. Hiring will then cease until the airline convinces Atlanta that more bodies are needed.

Hopefully, hiring will continue (probably no more than 10/month) throughout 2025. However, I fully expect Atlanta to pause our hiring while they analyze demand for our services going forward.

Still no info on a system bid, but Vacation BuyBack just dropped for 2502 (Feb/Mar) which IMO is a positive indicator of future hiring for poolies & aspiring applicants.

Hopefully more news soon.

Ups is fishing for 118 weeks of 757 captain vacation in the bid to buy back. I hope everyone enjoys their well deserved time off.

I ran into the DO in the grocery store last week, he volunteered that he thought we would hire 150 next year. Friday, the dir of training said 30/month through October. So 300 for the year? "Well more like 200". FWIW

Any word on a system bid?
Hopefully it’s similar to the last one.
