Default "Git Er Done"

The take off must have been equally spectacular.

Looks like ops normal in TEGU. It is nice the photographer was able to get so close to the jet. Takeoff is limited by S/E climb weight and obstacle clearance.

Some of my friends who go to Honduras for mission trips absolutely hate flying in and out of Tegucigalpa for that very reason. That and they hate the Miami airport...

I love the lady's voice in the background--"Don't be afraid." Yowie.

I dont see what the big deal is landing there......Just make sure you catch the 3 wire.

I assume all the landings there are hand flown?

Since heard this is a regular run for AMR. Think the rwy. is about 5,000. Autobrakes "MAX".

Default risky looking approach

Jet pilots are very expert, but this approach seems like a recipe for trouble in a jetliner going 150kts. Looks like a lot of risk in regard to getting low on approach, or off course in weather. I hope they don't have much ifr in that area. It's not an ILS from what I gather.

Jungle - I always enjoy your posts and have been a fan of HST for a while. Since it seems you have "been there and done that", where does it rate on the hairy meter? Is the approach as tricky as it looks, or does it simply appear that way from the movie?

Thanks in advance.
