Default Shimmer

"It was a cigar shaped object which seemed to shimmer as if constructed of a plasma or liquid and caused the surrounding air to do the same...."

Jungle,

Out of curiosity, what time of day was this shot, given that it's 19+ hours of sunlight a day up there right now?

Also, beauty, as usual..

It was about 18:40:49 local, 52F with cold 30 knot winds. Thanks for looking.
The good news is not much night time, the bad news is 2300L feels like 1900L.

I keep flashing back to the opening of the move "White Nights" and the PA Announcement (obscure reference to evening sun).

The contrast between Summer and Winter there must be taxing, but on the other hand, the beauty of the place probably makes up for it.

I guess I'll just experience that vicariously through you Jungle.

Thanks again (as always) for the wonderful shots.
