Yeah, the photos I uploaded today were all taken with a 10.5mm fisheye lens during the same walk-around. It's certainly a fun lens but could get overdone in a hurry.

UAL has Pratts. At least that's what the big sticker on the nacelle says

Those engines have one of the most unique (and cool) howls when they taxi past.

I haven't heard that since my Marine Corps days - in the CH-46 if it wasn't leaking it really was empty! I'd bet the DC-6 resembles that remark too!

Yep - with a radial I am always very leery if I don't see a nice puddle of Texas Tea underneath.

There was a guy in Iowa - Byron Godsperson(sp?). Anyway, he owned a company called Byron's Originals which made models and stuff. He always put on a neat airshow with the models every year - we are talking large scale type stuff. Anyway, he invited some guys to bring their airplanes one year - a Stinson SR8E Reliant, a Staggerwing, a Waco UPF-7, and my Grandpa took his Howard DGA. His hanger floor was really nice - had large globes painted on it with lines representing ocean voyages of famous explorers, etc. They pushed the airplanes in, and Grandpa started looking for a drip-pan for his machine. Didn't have any, so they were all worried that with Two P&W R-985's, a Wright R-975, and the 220hp Continental that it would be a nasty mess on the beautiful hanger floor in the morning. Next morning they get to the hanger - not a drop, from any of the airplanes, is on the floor. I didn't see this personally so even though my Grandpa told me I still don't believe it.
