Took a couple of pics on the tripod the other day, turned out rather well =)

Wow! How do you catch the lightning on those shots? I've always wondered how people photograph lightning.

you just put a really long shutter time.
For the bottom picture there I had a shutter time of around 20 seconds, then you just wait for the lightning to appear =).
If there are like 5 lightning bolts in those 20 seconds it will appear like they were all there at once in the picture

sent high res pics to the 3 who requested =) Also have a last pic, no lightning in it, just secondary lighting, but it looks kind of ominous

Thanks Photon. I took some pics of the same storm but they werent that great (I was in a car on I-95 doing like 75 mph ).

EDIT: Wow, the resolution on those pics is amazing!

they were taken with an eos 400D (10.1MP or so).
Used the lowest iso and a really long shutter time . Need a tripod for that stuff, haha.
