Yes it's Emirates. No buzzard, a pigeon ingested down the core during taxi in. Because the engine being at low rpm during the taxi, it had to be borescoped. Mechanic said he had been working the line on these engines for two years and this was the first time he ever had to open the cowls.

Very interesting Skyone. I guess it's just bad luck that it went into the core, but why does the power setting affect the maintenance procedure?

Maybe the higher power setting chops the bird up into smaller bits that will cause less damage.

Pretty much correct. That's how they found what had happened by feathers, etc. in the core. If it had been in flight, probably it would have come and gone with little or no notice.
