Seagulls . . . slim yachts of the element.
— Robinson Jeffers

More than anything else, Jonathan Livingston Seagull loved to fly.
— Richard Bach, 'Jonathan Livingston Seagull,' 1970.

In response to how he checked the weather, "I just whip out my blue card with a hole in it and read what it says: 'When color of card matches color of sky, FLY!'"

Love the B&W. Did you use a red filter?

Very nice, FD. I always think of large birds like these as refined examples of natural engineering- they are efficient and perfectly suited to their purpose.

Nope... I'm over shooting BW with a filter, I found that it made the shutter speeds to long to freeze motion for most of the shots I do. This was edited in Picasa, someday I might upgrade but free is cheap.

Hahahaha, thats more like it

I guess growing up in a fishing town I spend more time beating them off with a stick than admiring them.

That eagle shot is truly awe-inspiring. I am at a loss for words.

Thanks
