Default Miniaturized!

Experimenting with some tilt-shift effects on some recent photos....what do you think?

Pretty cool shots, are you using a lens baby or a PS blur mask?

Wish I had lens baby. Just faking it with the blur mask.

Lens baby or not, you're still killin' it - the photos look great, nice work!

I also like the Osaka Aquarium photos, I used to go to that IMAX during KIX layovers - good times.

Has anyone read anywhere why it is the tilt-shift effect tricks the eye into thinking its looking at a miniature diorama?

For the longest time watching the bumps between Metalocalypse and Aqua Teen Hunger Force at 3 AM on [adult swim] I was amazed at the miniature models of Atlanta they would show as they came back from commercial. I had no idea it was tilt-shift until I read the several threads here on it.

Thanks.

Yeah, the Aquarium is really cool. Osaka is a pretty good city to visit, especially if you enjoy Japanese food. SOOO much to choose from.

The shot looking down the street at night makes me think of the way HBO use to start their movies.

The shots are pretty good but I'm not a huge fan of the blur effect
