Canon 1Ds and Canon 600mm f4 or 400mm f2.8. Also using a Wimberly gimbal tripod head to smooth panning when possible.

Nice paint job, and great picture, but how much does it cost to repaint a 747 or for that matter, any aircraft? It always amazes me that the closer to bankruptcy that a company is, the more likely they are to paint their airplanes.

I think the paint alone weighs adds about two thousand pounds to the weight of the plane....

Default chicago fliers... WHY...

Why did United change their livery?
The new paint job looks way too retro (way too retro - not in a good way)
should have stayed with the dark gray...
anyone?

Well, often there is a new kind of paint out there that weighs much less. Wenn United changed from the old white to gray the color was much lighter! I think in this case, the color is lighter too. Having a new livery may bring marketing advatages too. The old color is still the Chapter 11 United that has many pilots on furlough. With a new livery it seems to be a new company. At least that is what I think they wanted to reach. I don't know. Personally I like the new livery, it makes the planes a bit more elegant...

just my 0,02$ though...

Hi Animals, good to see you here girl.

Personally, I like the new colors. I agree with the United guy here, the gray is a bit depressing and reminds everyone of bankruptsy. Skygirl has a soft spot in her heart for United Airlines, (not the management though!) just their pensionless pilots. United pilots certainly have one of the better uniforms as well, classy and understated. Some pilots have uniforms that make them look like a South American dictator! Big honking epaulets, etc.
